Horween Shell Cordovan

Shell Cordovan is one of the most respected leathers in the worlds of fine leather goods and horology. Sourced from the hindquarters of the horse, it is tanned by hand by the Horween Leather Co. of Chicago, using a meticulous process unchanged since 1927.

Its exceptional density, characteristic grain, and remarkable longevity make it a material apart, instantly recognized by both touch and sight. We selected it to adorn several of our watch strap models, allowing the material to speak for itself.

It takes time to create Shell Cordovan. Months of tanning, entirely manual work, and a rare hide sourced from a precise section of the equine hindquarters. It is this deliberate, unhurried pace that explains the immense density of the result: a firm, lustrous leather that resists easy marking and develops a patina through use that few materials can ever equal.

Available in four colors, burgundy, green, whiskey, and black, it adapts to vastly different styles while retaining its instantly recognizable character. We offer it across several of our models, from classic straps to Rallye and Bund versions, allowing everyone the freedom of how they choose to wear it.

Some leathers merely age. This one does not.
