Material

The crocodile and lizard leathers selected for the Fitzgerald belt come from vintage stocks, carefully preserved for several decades. Exceptional hides, whose fine scales and rich patterns cannot be reproduced today.

Each leather is unique by nature. It will slowly develop a patina over time, gaining depth and character, revealing a beauty that is never instantly given away.

Over many years, they may gradually lose some of their luster. Should this occur, a Reptan cream will restore their vibrancy with minimal effort.

Design

The proportions of the Fitzgerald belt follow traditional standards and a timeless aesthetic. The crocodile option is offered in a 25 mm width in a subtle hazelnut shade. The lizard option is also available in 25 mm, in brown or black, for a sleek and elegant silhouette.

All belts can be paired, by choice, with either a silver-plated or gold-plated brass buckle from the archives of the Parisian house Poursin. Founded in the early 20th century, this house specialized in cast metal pieces for saddlery and harness-making, lending each belt a rare authenticity.

Craftmanship

These belts are the result of patient work that respects what already exists. Discovered during a workshop visit, carefully wrapped and forgotten at the back of an antique wardrobe, these crocodile and lizard pieces date back to the 1960s.

Each belt has been restored by hand, nourished, and reconditioned before being paired with period-correct buckles, notably from the vintage deadstock of Maison Poursin. This meticulous work brings a series of rare pieces back to life, available in very limited quantities.
