PRETTY LITTLE DETAILS
Is there a strong connection between racing cars and the inspiration that gave birth to the Longines Silver Arrow in the mid-1950s? Not so sure. Nevertheless, similarities between the two are undeniable, in a beautiful elongated shape and style, and also in the performances of Longines who innovated its movements, without the danger.
The shapes of the Longines watches of this period are easily recognizable. A round steel case with faceted lugs that are often fine and elongated. A finesse is achieved thanks to the development of a new thinner caliber: the Longines 23Z. The dial is very graphic, with Alpha hands, faceted and striated hour markers, not to mention the generous and voluptuous “Silver Arrow” typography at six o’clock.
This is a watch with a very nice patina and in a very good overall condition.
