THE “1953” COLLECTION: GRAINED LEATHER STRAPS
A new collection with a brand new design has arrived at Joseph Bonnie.
Inspired by the fashion and popular cuts of the 1950’s and 1960’s, these grained calfskin leather straps are bringing back a certain retro elegance that we can no longer find today.
Available in 5 colors: Black, Chocolate, Cognac, Almond and Charcoal.
A STRAP THAT DOESN’T EXIST ANYMORE
Structure and proportions considered “obsolete” today. And what a shame.
A sharp width difference from 20 to 14mm inherited from the 1950’s offers rare elegance, even when paired with sporty watch cases at 40 mm and more.
The padded construction of these straps brings incredible suppleness as well as great resistance over time.
The grained leather has been folded over an inner reinforcement layer before being handsewn under the lining.
The edge is therefore made of the same grained leather and does not require dyeing.

ONE SIZE ONLY: 20MM
Only one size is available today: 20 mm. Several reasons explain why.
First of all, such a width difference on a strap measuring less than 20 mm would be too much.
Secondly, because the strap’s 2 mm thinness would be rarely appropriate for the size and weight of watches with a lug width higher than 20 mm.
Despite this, we still very much wanted to revive this old iconic and elegant favorite, which would enhance any dress watch or vintage chronograph, but also a Speedy, an old Submariner and any other modern watch with a reasonable case size.
