Ulysse Nardin Automatic Date
Ref. 10906-1 - Cal. N74 - Circa 1960
“The Pioneering Manufacture inspired by the sea and delivering innovative timepieces to free spirits, since 1846.” This is how Ulysse Nardin defines itself.
Its creator has forged a reputation for creating precision marine chronometers. After the untimely death of Ulysses, his son Paul-David wins a gold medal at the Paris World Fair for his pocket and marine chronometers which contributes to solidify the reputation of the manufacture in the field.
Later, marine chronometers were provided to Russian and Japanese Admirals. Following the Russo-Japanese war, the Japanese Imperial government increased its orders and became one of the main clients of the company. As such, Ulysse Nardin watches are particularly appreciated by Japanese collectors.
The model we present here is not a marine chronograph but a superb robust “three hand” automatic timepiece in perfect condition.
