GRAINED LEATHER STRAPS - GAL TANNERY
Coming from a long tradition of tanneries established since the Middle Ages along the Vincou River, Gal Tannery perpetuates rare know-how of the leather trades in Bellac. It’s one of the last tanneries that master natural cowhide leather, tanned in the pit with ground oak bark. Leather of great resistance, it possesses a unique smell of undergrowth that makes it a legend.
The tanned hides we use here are from an old stock, from around fifty years ago, with quality that’s complicated to find today. Complicated and expensive.
This exceptional cowhide has a “pork” grain that’s easily identified by three-by-three alveoli reproducing the pattern of the animal’s thick hair growth.
Leather of another time, that we can’t leave buried in the back of our workshops …
Available in 3 colors: Chocolate, Coffee and Caramel.
Approximate Delivery Date: 06/25/19
A VIDEO PRESENTATION FOR A BETTER IDEA
WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?
Simply because this leather doesn’t exist anymore. If we were to ask the tannery to reproduce it today, we would be obligated to sell the same strap at three times its actual price. When we’re done with this limited stock of hides, that’ll be the end of it. No more, no less.
The edge is therefore made of the same grained leather and does not require dyeing.
This leather is of exceptional feel and quality.
Its tight disposition and robustness allows resistance and durability.
The thickness of 13/10 mm of these NATO straps will fit most watches.

AN EXCEPTIONAL STRAP
I think you’ve all got it by now. It’s rare, but above all, exceptionally beautiful.
The one-of-a-kind strap we rarely come across, and one that won’t come back.
We’re delighted, even moved, to have had the chance to give it a second life.
