Here is a timepiece that hides many secrets. Does the name Nathan George Horwitt ring any bells? He was an American industrial designer known for the design of his signature Museum watch where the dial presented a brushed steel sphere at noon. A drawing made in the late 1940’s, originally incorporated into a Vacheron Constantin-LeCoultre watch which is now a part of the MoMA collection.

nterestingly enough, Movado began producing watches with this dial shortly after, and with questionable legality. This was before finally getting along in a more law-abiding way with their designer more than 20 years later.
