Ingenieur is to IWC what MILGAUSS is to Rolex: a watch destined for engineers due to its antimagnetic design.

The reference 666 was launched in 1955 at a time of great economic boom and a growing interest in Technology. Its bidirectional winding automatic movement is the work of Albert Pellaton, Technical Director of IWC at the time.

The model shown here is in superb condition with an exquisite black dial. This is the reference 666 AD, meaning it has been equipped with a date display unlike its sister reference, the 666A. Its movement being a caliber 8531, means that the piece dates back to the end of the 1950’s (circa 1959). A truly rare timepiece!
