Heuer Carrera Vintage
Ref. 1158 G - 12 Caliber - Circa 1970
Omega, Rolex, and Heuer surely have their spot on the podium in terms of chronographs. The Carrera was designed in 1963 by Jack Heuer, who was himself a big fan of racing cars and tracks, to meet the specific needs of professional racing drivers.
Although the design of this watch has evolved between the 1960’s and 1970’s, the specifications have remained the same, and in particular includes an easy-to-read large dial and a resistant waterproof case.
As a reminder, the name of this chronograph comes from a legendary rally that crosses Mexico, the “Carrera Panamericana,” banned in 1955 after only five races and numerous tragic accidents.
The watch presented here is especially rare: a 1158 solid gold reference in very good condition.
